Junior SOC Analyst

We are currently recruiting analysts to work in our cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC). 

This role is an entry-level role and requires no direct experience of cyber; however, you must be passionate about working in a security environment with cutting edge technology and keen to learn and increase your skills year-on-year.
CNS SOC works alongside CNS’s Network Operations Centre (NOC) and Cyber Security Engineers to provide a variety of managed security and monitoring services to our clients to ensure their data remains secure. 

The CNS SOC is a close-knit team providing the first-line of cyber defence for our private and public sector clients, who range from high-street banks to central government departments and police forces. To provide 24 hour coverage of all threats, all SOC analyst roles are shift roles; the normal rota is 4 day shifts, 4 days off, 4 night shifts, 4 days off etc.

Main Duties 

  • Analyse cyber security alarms generated by the Managed Service Platform for possible or actual cyber breaches 
  • Tri-age and respond to security and compliance alarms as directed by senior analysts
  • Communicate with clients to explain security incidents and to manage ongoing compliance issues
  • Participate in internal Red team/Blue team cyber testing and training sessions
  • Conduct all training required to meet certification standards and to develop skills required by the SOC
  • Operate in accordance with defined policies and defined Service Level Agreements 
  • Working within a broader team to deliver cutting edge cyber security services





      Basic IT System Administration experience and/or; 

      IT Service Desk experience

      Must Have:

      Excellent communication skills

      Passionate about working in a security role and learning about new technologies

      Able to multi-task and work to tight deadlines across multiple IT platforms
